About the Workshop

The Alternatives to Truck Engine Idling Workshop was sponsored by the Iowa Energy Center and the Iowa State University Center for Transportation Research and Education, and drew participation from across the country, including representatives from industry, national laboratories, and state and federal Transportation, Energy, and Environmental Protection Agencies. The Iowa workshop provided an opportunity for participants to connect regional issues to the strategies discussed at the National Idling Reduction Planning Conference held May 17-19, 2004, in Albany, New York.
