About the research
CTRE served as the technical experts about roadway departure and other traffic safety engineering topics on this project. The primary objective was to assist the US DOT’s Road Departure Program in improving information delivery by better organizing the Road Departure website, and in preparing technology transfer publications and other materials that provides stakeholders with user-friendly access to tools and technologies to help them reduce crashes.

About the research
The project objective is to preare updated access management outreach materials, including printed materials, Powerpoint presentations, and 9-12 minute educational videotape for the FHWA to use for its own staff and to distribute nationally. CTRE’s specific tasks in the project will be to provide technical documentation on existing research literature (including several studies conducted at CTRE), to provide input and feedback to the authors of the print outreach materials, and to prepare a video storyboard for the video producers to use in shooting and editing the educational videotape.
