Learn about the multi-year journey for the City of Cedar Falls in delivering the signature University Avenue project to the community. A focus will be placed on the strong planning efforts that went into the project decision-making, public engagement strategies, and the successful execution of the project design and construction.

This discussion will focus on concrete pavement preservation techniques and the recent web-based training modules from the National Highway Institute.

Muscatine Riverfront Development Jim Edgmond, P.E., City of Muscatine & Jim Harbaugh, P.L.A., ASLA, Bolton & Menk, Inc.
This project included a four lane to three lane conversion in downtown Muscatine. Critical items that led to the success of the project included public involvement, railroad coordination, complex staging, and flooding considerations.

Concrete Pavement & Subgrade Foundations - Larry Stevens, P.E., HR Green, Inc.
Larry will discuss the importance of improving the subgrade foundation to ensure quality and long lasting concrete pavements.
