Description

The purpose of the 2019 Traffic and Safety Forum is to enable traffic and safety engineering professionals to learn about new and innovative systems and processes, share individual experiences, and collectively address issues of interest. In recent years, representatives have attended from cities, counties, consultants, universities, and the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Keynote Speaker

Jay Otto, Traffic Safety Culture

Jay Otto is a Research Scientist for the Center for Health and Safety Culture in the Western Transportation Institute at Montana State University. Jay received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He leads the research efforts for the Center as well as participates in research projects.

Otto will engage the participants in an interactive presentation about traffic safety culture. He will introduce the Center’s approach to traffic safety culture, share information about current data and trends, and share some of the exciting research underway funded by the Traffic Safety Culture Pooled Fund.
