Concrete is everywhere – and so we tend to take it for granted as being ugly and boring. However, it is both extremely complex and can be used to build beautiful structures. This presentation will explore the history of concrete and its impact on civilization; discuss current concrete technology and our efforts to make it more durable and sustainable; and close out with a look to the future.
