Concrete Pavement Lunch Forum Training
Since 2006—with support from the Iowa Concrete Paving Association (ICPA) and the Iowa Department of Transportation—the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center (CP Tech Center) has been delivering informal lunch forum continuing education to pavement engineers in now ten locations across Iowa every fall, winter, and spring.
Over the years, this free CP Tech Center training has provided more than 6,000 total attendees with state-of-the-industry insights from around the country and throughout Iowa on more than 40 technical topics related to the design, construction, and preservation of concrete pavements.
Each season’s forum topic is chosen by surveying the interests of previous attendees along with input from concrete industry experts. Since 2016, CP Tech Center Technology Transfer Engineer and Snyder & Associates’ Senior Engineer, Jerod Gross, PE, LEED® AP, has led the CP Tech Center’s ongoing continuing education lunch forum series.
Lunch forum training for fall 2019 will focus on the CP Tech Center’s recently published next-generation Integrated Materials and Construction Practices for Concrete Pavement (IMCP) manual. This training will highlight key advances in concrete pavement technologies having particular potential to strengthen Iowa’s road system by increasing the durability, and therefore lifespan, of its pavement infrastructure.
