2019 Mid-Continent Transportation Research Symposium: Call for Abstracts
We are interested in projects that have been implemented to tackle today’s transportation problems.
We welcome submissions from people representing broad perspectives in the transportation community: consultants, engineers, planners, and practitioners from public agencies, private industry, and universities.
Symposium presentations will be published online after the 2019 Mid-Continent Transportation Research Symposium.
Potential Abstract Topics
The symposium will offer several concurrent sessions, each on a topic area, as well as a general poster session. This year, we are especially interested in promising, implementation-ready solutions for federal and state departments of transportation, cities, and counties.
Potential topic areas are listed below, but other relevant topics are welcome.
Prepare a brief abstract clearly summarizing your proposed presentation and submit it using the abstract submission form.
Abstract Review Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated by a committee of regional transportation professionals, based on one or more of the following criteria (not necessarily in this order):
- Succinct, clearly defined research objective and expected results
- Practical, implementable solutions for transportation challenges
- Valuable insights or research results
- Tangible research findings or products (technology, equipment, processes)
Notice of Acceptance
The number of accepted abstracts will depend on the number submitted for each topic area and the space available within each session.
Authors of abstracts accepted for presentation will be notified by e-mail sometime after the submission period closes, with instructions for submitting complete presentations and/or posters for electronic publication.*
*Note: At least one author of each paper or poster accepted for presentation must be registered for the symposium in order for the paper or poster to be included in the program.
