Full-depth reclamation with cement publication now online
A new guide about a sustainable engineering technology in pavement rehabilitation has been published by the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center at Iowa State University.
The “Guide to Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR) with Cement” introduces the FDR with cement process and examines issues related to project selection, design, construction, and testing and quality control.
The Portland Cement Association of Skokie, Illinois, sponsored the 90-page guide.
Sustainable engineering technologies in pavement rehabilitation, such as FDR, could be the answer for agencies in their quest to provide taxpayers with high-quality infrastructure while being good stewards of public funds, according to the guide.
Full-depth reclamation of asphalt pavement is a rehabilitation method that involves recycling an existing asphalt pavement and its underlying layer(s) into a new base layer.
