TSA Member Wins ITS Institute Scholarship
Congratulations to Katie Maurer, this year’s winner of a $1,000 scholarship from the University of Minnesota’s ITS Institute. Through a rigorous application process that included writing a technical essay and providing detailed information about academic achievement, involvement in student activities, work experience, and personal goals, Katie was selected over other students who applied from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Iowa. Katie’s essay discussed transit signal prioritization and the use of electronic signs to communicate with motorists in order to reduce delays and adverse environmental impacts.
Katie, a member of ISU’s Transportation Student Association, is a junior at ISU pursuing a B.S. degree in Natural Resource Ecology and Management.
