Crashworthy Railing Systems for Timber Bridge Decks
Bridge railing has historically been designed based on static load design criteria. In recent years, full-scale crash testing has become a more prevalent method of evaluating the suitability of railing systems. This paper describes a cooperative research program to develop and verify crashworthy railing systems for longitudinal timber bridge decks.
