Elastic Analysis of Flexibly Jointed Laminated Timber Plates

A mechanical model is developed which permits the analysis of arbitrarily layered plate-like timber-composites taking into account the flexibility of the joint interfaces. This is an extension of the classical laminate theory allowing for relative displacements of the bounding surfaces of the individual layers. The effectiveness of the adopted approach is demonstrated on two simple examples.
