Proceedings: Conference on Nondestructive Evaluation of Bridges
On August 25-27, 1992, a major forum of 80 knowledgeable individuals representing researchers, manufacturers, and users of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods and equipment for bridges was convened to exchange information and to provide guidance for studies of NDE of bridges proposed as a part of the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHSA) High Priority Area (HPA). The conference (1) identified the current status of NDE for bridges, (2) defined goals and areas of concentration for NDE research as it applies to bridge inspection, (3) fulfilled an immediate need to inform NDE system developers of bridge inspection needs and the NDE system users of potential technologies.
