Retaining Wall Design Guide
This design guide has been developed in an effort to streamline and standardize the art and science of slope management within Region 6. Specifically, it has been structured to accomplish the following:
1. To provide an organized procedure by which Forest Service engineers and managers can select and design the most economical and appropriate structure to solve a given slope management problem.
2. To help management better utilize geotechnical engineering input in the decision making process of retaining wall type selection.
3. To provide a complete reference on the design of retaining walls used by the Forest Service in steep terrain of Region 6.
4. To provide a compendium of standard designs and specifications commonly used in Region 6.
