About the research

This project involved completing background research on the extent and performance of the transportation system in Missouri. In addition, best practices of states in the areas of transportation and economic vitality, transportation and quality of life, and transportation and environmental quality were summarized. Information on comprehensive transportation policies and financing plans of other states was also presented in the report. All information was presented in a 28 page report that was published by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and used at an October 1999 legislative forum on transportation held at the Lake of the Ozarks. The report is entitled Transportation Outcomes: Balancing Needs and Interests.
