About the research
With passage of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 state and regional transportation programs in the United States have placed increased emphasis on planning system improvements from a multimodal perspective. However, most of the planning methods and tools available to transportation planners were developed to address needs from the perspective of a single mode. The purpose of this project is to develop a multimodal transportation investment analysis methodology that will permit the analysis of transportation investments from a system wide perspective.
