Description
Join us July 23 and July 25 for this FREE two-day online webinar that will focus on processes for incorporating safety into all aspects of local and rural road projects, and on making safety a priority through inclusion in the traditional decision-making process 365 days a year. The course will stress the importance of road safety, and illustrate how it can be integrated into rural/local transportation project development at all stages: planning, design, construction, implementation, operations, and maintenance. The emphasis will be on operations and maintenance to reflect the predominant, day-to-day responsibilities of rural/local transportation agencies. The benefits and potential cost savings of safety initiatives are shown using examples from rural/local agencies.
Note that this course will run from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop will benefit local and rural road and/or maintenance public works maintenance supervisors. A secondary audience for this training may include DOT staff, consultants, and MPOs. Some audience members will be familiar with road safety issues, while others may be less knowledgeable.
