Description
Iowa LTAP, with the support of Iowa DOT and the FHWA, offers a variety of programs that serve local transportation agencies. Two of the programs include our free equipment loans and the annual competition for small city work zone sign packages. This webinar will explain how each of the programs works and what is required to take advantage of them. The items in the equipment loan program will be identified and described, and the application process for the small city work zone sign package program will be discussed.
Speaker Bios
David Veneziano is Safety Circuit Rider with the Iowa Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) at the Institute for Transportation at Iowa State University. Dr. Veneziano earned his Ph.D. in transportation engineering from Iowa State University in 2006. He has over 14 years of experience in various aspects of transportation research, including safety and operational analysis, winter maintenance applications, Intelligent Transportation Systems and remote sensing. In addition, his experience includes outreach and training activities for safety treatments, roadside safety, work zone flagging and safety, and roadway signing and marking. He has also led numerous road safety assessment efforts in Iowa over the past 6 years.
Paul Albritton is the Technical Training Coordinator for the Iowa Local Technical Assistance Program. He is an Authorized OSHA 10 Instructor and an ATSSA Certified Traffic Control Supervisor and a graduate from the University of Louisiana, Monroe.
