Go! Magazine releases June issue

Go! Magazine (http://www.go-explore-trans.org/) is a free, not-for-profit, online magazine that produces articles about the unique, interesting, crazy, awesome, and expanding world of transportation.

Each month, Go! produces a three part article series and either an interview with a transportation expert, a book or movie review, a blog entry from one of our staff writers, or information about transportation careers. The best part? Our articles are interesting for readers of all ages.

For June, we produced a Go! Green article series about renewable energy and how some engineers, inventors, and entrepreneurs are taking advantage of these eco-friendly energy alternatives. Ever heard of an “AirBus?”

Whatever floats your boat: Solar energyDid you know that every hour the sun illuminates the Earth with more than enough energy to sustain global energy demands for a whole year? In this Go! Green article, we are looking at the pros and cons of solar energy and how modern-day inventors are taking advantage of this eco-friendly energy alternative.

It’s electric: Battery power
With great power comes great responsibility to the future of transportation. Rather than typical internal combustion engines, electric aircraft have electric motors, getting their energy from fuel cells, solar cells, ultracapacitors, power beaming, or batteries. In this article, we’ll be looking at some of the latest aircraft to hit the sky.

This will blow you away: Wind energy
Modeled after the centuries-old “windmill,” our modern-day wind turbines don’t ground grain and pump water anymore. Instead, they use their large blades and a generator to produce electricity! Experts even predict that by 2050, wind power could provide one-third of the whole world’s supply of electricity. Follow us as we take a look inside one of these wind giants.

Renew, Reuse, Employ: Renewable energy facts and careers
Let’s give you the facts: Available careers in the wind and solar energy industries continue to grow as the pros of using renewable energy over the burning of fossil fuels outweigh the cons. Let us introduce you to your future career!

Dot’s Adventures with Transportation: Let’s Go! Vacation
“Dot’s Adventures with Transportation: Let’s Go! Vacation,” a web comic,  is directly related to the Go! Explore series posted in February 2016, where readers are guided through three of the most traveled cities in the world: New York, Rome, and Istanbul!
