This presentation will describe the laboratory testing and field demonstration of a new glulam bridge. Laboratory work addressed the problematic asphalt cracking common in
transverse glulam panel decks. The field demonstration project showcases the retrofit detail which was determined to provide the best field performance. The project was
cooperative effort between the Bridge Engineering Center at Iowa State University and the Forest Products Laboratory.
