Structural Engineering in the 21st Century

This proceedings, Structural Engineering in the 21st Centuryn, contains papers presented at the 1999 New Orleans Structures Congress held on April 18-21, 1999. Papers are listed by session and sessions are grouped by theme. The themes are: (1) seismic effects, (2) concrete and masonry structures, (3) bridges, (4) structural analysis, (5) structural design, (6) wood engineering, (7) structural instrumentation, (8) steel structures, (9) construction, (10) special structures, (11) wind engineering, and (12) transmission and telecommunications structures. The goal of the Congress is to cover the broad range of structural engineering as we move into the 21st century. Topics range from the latest research developments to practical applications of structural engineering principles.
