USDA Forest Service Forest Products Library: Celebrating a Century of Accomplishments
This book is about many of the accomplishments of a unique institutionÛÓthe U.S Department
of Agriculture, Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory (FPL). When it opened in
1910 on the University of Wisconsin campus, FPL was the only wood research facility in
existence. Today, it is joined by many similar research laboratories located around the world.
Many of its accomplishments have been joint efforts with universities, associations, other
agencies, and industry.
