About the research
Maintaining an extensive roadway system in a desirable manner is a challenging responsibility for any agency, but with widely varying weather, environmental, and terrain conditions in different regions of the country, meeting that obligation can be a daunting task. A comprehensive reference covering requirements and good practices that are specific to Alaska’s unique conditions would be a beneficial asset for the state’s roadway maintenance managers and workers alike. The objective of this project was to develop such a manual.
